Following the separation from the Czech Republic, on January 1, 1993, Slovakia began issuing its telephone cards, the first of which in the same month; it was a 50-unit card with a circulation of 20,000 and SC-4 or SC-5 chips, showing a night view of Bratislava, the country’s new capital. The card was reprinted in February with SC-7 chip and 15,000 run.
