Before moving to the chip system, Cape Verde used Landis & Gyr technology for the public telephone network, issuing, from 1990 to 1993, only 5 card models. Four of these were ordinary cards with the telephone company logo, and included values of 20, 50, 100 and 200 units. These cards were reprinted several times, but the first ones issued in 1990 were only three, all with code 010C. The value of 200 units instead was printed for the first time only in 1991, with 110G code.
