The first cards used in Benin were 2 values, 50 and 120 units, produced by Landis & Gyr and issued in 1990 with code 009B. The two cards had runs of 4,000 pieces each and two years later, in 1992, they were reprinted with codes 206A and 211A and the double of circulation. Following these, Landis & Gyr provided two more pictorial cards, but later the telephone sets were replaced with others that used chip cards.
